Can you introduce yourself in a few words?

My name is Margaux Elia, and I’m an independent Human Resources consultant. I support small and medium-sized business leaders (SMBs) in structuring and managing their HR. My role is to simplify, secure, and enhance the human aspect within companies, so that leaders can focus on what they do best.

What is your professional background?

I’ve worked in a variety of sectors – medical laboratories, agri-food, financial consulting, engineering – holding both generalist and international HR positions. I’ve experienced life in large corporations as well as in small and medium-sized businesses, which has helped me understand the regulatory, organizational, and human challenges specific to each type of structure. I chose to become independent so I could use my experience to support human-scale businesses.

What does it mean to be an independent HR consultant?

It means offering small businesses the expertise of an HR department, without the constraints of a full-time role. In practical terms, I step in when and where I’m needed: structuring recruitment processes, setting up employee representative bodies, ensuring legal compliance, or advising business leaders in their decision-making. My independence allows me to be both involved in the day-to-day life of the company and distant enough to offer a clear, objective, and strategic perspective.

What is “La Ressource Humaine”?

It’s a network of independent HR experts who share a common vision: making HR accessible, practical, and human – even for the smallest organizations. We pool our skills to offer business leaders comprehensive and close-knit support.

How did the idea come to you?

The idea came to me through conversations with small business owners. By listening to them, I realized that behind every small business lies more than just an economic activity: there’s a life project, a family story, a bold venture. And yet, these same leaders often shared with me their mental load, the lack of information, and the complexity of HR management. I wanted to be that trusted resource who helps them structure, secure, and grow their teams, so they can focus on what really matters: growing their project and sharing their vision.

Where do you stand today?

I work with small and medium-sized businesses in various sectors. My role is both operational (administration, recruitment, compliance) and strategic (structuring, retention, performance). I'm based in Nantes, but I support companies all over France.

What are your goals for the coming years?

To change the perception of the HR function in small businesses, to continue supporting passionate business leaders, and to strengthen the positive impact of HR on employee retention, business performance, and overall well-being.

Anything else to add?

Small businesses are not “too small” for HR. They carry powerful human stories and meaningful life projects. They deserve an HR function that is tailored, flexible, and truly contributes to their development. My services may be covered up to 100%. Feel free to contact me to check your eligibility
